KBR Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Hi, I made design for oscommerce only with html and css with minimum tables. I'm trying to make something like my own new template but it seems to be impossible. i don't know where to start. if i change index.php, header.php and footer.php it looks terrible and now i found that i can use file common_top_bts.php for changing design. but I'm lost. please, does anybody know which files do i have to change if i want to create new design? i don't know oscommerce very well. Thank you. Quote

Sorry Stano, I had assumed that this was a new installation of osCommerce in which the stock osC does not have the following script: common_top_bts.php. This indicates that you have the “Basic Template System” installed. With that said, I can’t help you as I do not use or support the Basic Template System. I suggest STS (Simple Template System) as it is kept up to date and offers better support (just my humble opinion). You may find answers in this forum by doing a Google search such as: site:www.oscommerce.com/forums Basic Template System -or- site:www.oscommerce.com/forums BTS Hope this helps, Quote Bill Kellum Sounds Good Productions STS Tutorials & more: STSv4.6, STS Add-ons (STS Power Pack), STS V4 Forum STS Forum FREE TEMPLATE
KBR Posted June 3, 2008 Author Posted June 3, 2008 No problem. I should mention that is not new installation. Sorry for that. I will take look on BTS. Thanks for tip That shop is strange. I renamed template directory - just what happened - And nothing. So probably I don't need use BTS. And I made progress from yesterday, so now I’m able to change e.g. index.php file but I must using absolute addresses (http://localhost/catalog/stylesheet.css), with relative addresses not working. Is anywhere tutorial or manual how to redesign oscomerce? Quote
