New Install, Stylesheet problems

hi,

 

I have just done a fresh install. All went successfully - all the pre-install checks were successful. I logged into the Admin control panel for the first time after the installation and the fonts appear all messed up. It's as if the stylesheet is not working?

Any ideas?

bump. anyone? I'm totally lost on this one...? All the fonts are messed up. The front shop looks fine...

has anybody experienced this?

Hi folks... well I made some progress thanks to those handy little firefox web developer add-ons.

I found in my server error logs the following:

/dev.mouton.co.uk/user/htdocs/shop/admin/includes/.htaccess: order not allowed here

 

So I renamed the .htaccess to see if this made any difference.. and voila it works. So my question then ... is it safe for me to not have the .htaccess or can I somehow ensure the stylesheet is allowed in the .htaccess file.
