amaenza Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 I have been tossing around the idea of creating an e-commerce site for a year or two now, but I lack the fundemental knowledge to do it myself (winforms developer, not a web developer) I was curious if osCommerce had the ability to do the following: Retrieve db updates from other sites (if wanted to do an affiliate based business). Pass purchase info on to other sites (affiliate again) The ability have users create an account and generate custom groups of items that would be saved for others to purchase (for example: Someone is throwing a party and wants everyone to bring X specific items at their own cost. They generate the list of items, and then the guests can look up the details and purchase these pre-defined sets). Also with the above question, could I tag items as a specific item type and have it update these groups using the cheapest item in that group (the list says they need a hat, i want the list to show the sheapest hat by default, but give them the option to modify it to any hat they want) This is more of an advanced affiliate based question, but if I did create an affiliate based site and someone had an order that contained purchases from multiple sites, can it handle that purchase? I'm sorry if I am appearing lazy and just asking instead of searching, but some of my questions are fairly specific and I figured asking experienced users would be the quickest route.
