Guest Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 Hi: I have a weird problem. I didn't play with my site in while and I just restarted listing products in it. When I create a new product category it won't show it in the store. I have the Enable/Disable category contribution and the category is enabled. If I do a search, I can find the products in this category and when I open the product I can see the path and the correct category on the top. When I try to delete an existing category they are completely removed from the categories and categories_description tables but for some strange reason my store still shows those categories ! So I'm stuck with all my old categories which can't be deleted or modified (renaming don't work either) and all my new categories are not showing up. Anyone has experienced something like this before? Thanks !
Guest Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 If you are using the cache feature then go to admin then tools then cache control. Click the triangle on the right under action to reset the cache. That might solve your problem.
spooks Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 The Enable/Disable category contribution is over complex for what it does, I have`nt check but you would normally refresh the cache after any change. You could try replacing it with my hide categories version, its much simpler but does the same job.
