Questions on oscommerce

Hi guys...

 

I am doing some research for an upcoming project for a group of restuarants.. where they all will be using one mall front.. with the different restuarants/shops.... where a customer can shop at multiple of them and just have one shoppping cart for all the items.... and also have the different shipping charges for the purchases at the different shops (restuarants)..

 

i was looking at x-cart pro for this and it can work.. but i got to buy a few extensions/mods for it..

 

so my question here is : can oscommerce have multiple stores with one shopping cart ? AKA a mall front.

 

How easy is it to change templates in oscommerce ?

 

Can each of the restuarants/stores have different templates ?

also in teh virtual mall.. is there an option where i can charge multiple shipping charges if they are buying from more than one store/restuarant ?

I would set up a local site on my PC to test drive it. That way you can push and pull the code how you want and it wont matter if you break it. There are plenty of mods for shipping options so it is a matter of trying them out and finding one that suits. I would guess adding mods to one of the multi-shop contributions will be a little more complex than a standard installation. You may need to port the mods, if you are using RC2. It maybe easier to use an older version of MS2. Do it locally and you can try new things as often as you want.
