How to test your store

I need to test out my client's osCommerce store. Is there a fake test I can do, or do i need to do a real purchase? Also, can the store be set to be 'off' when necessary?

Thanks for any help.

run the mock sales and you can test all the shipping & payment modules, simply after do the refund and you will get your money back without any charges (example: PayPal).

Please read this line: Do you want to find all the answers to your questions? click here. As for contribution database it's located here!

8 people out of 10 don't bother to read installation manuals. I can recommend: if you can't read the installation manual, don't bother to install any contribution yourself.

Before installing contribution or editing/updating/deleting any files, do the full backup, it will save to you & everyone here on the forum time to fix your issues.

Any issues with oscommerce, I am here to help you.

I've never seen the 'mock sales' feature. I'm missing something. Is it an add-on?

thanks,

I think Tony might mean the "Credit Card" payment module, which does not send any info off to a financial gateway, but simply stores the transactions in your database. You can also set it to send half the cc# to your store's email address. The test # is 4111111111111111, any future exp. date.

This module is NOT suitable for real transactions! Turn it off when you're done. But it's great for testing.

The other option that you might have is support from your financial gateway for testing. My gateway, Moneris, provides integration support including a "testing environment" that does simulated transactions with their server. Ask your provider.

Hope this helps,

~Wendy
