Jack_mcs
Use one of the contributions that use css. Stay away from the javascript ones. spooks
I would`nt be so sure its because you`ve got a javascript menu, google has been reading javascript for some time & will check links in the code. A while back I tried hiding links from google with javascript, guess what, it did`nt work. Sam Remember, What you think I ment may not be what I thought I ment when I said it. Jack_mcs
I would`nt be so sure its because you`ve got a javascript menu, google has been reading javascript for some time & will check links in the code. A while back I tried hiding links from google with javascript, guess what, it did`nt work. A google rep has stated that google is aware of javascript links and can follow them but he also said they were looking into that for future development. In other words, they may or may not follow them. They can, and do, read the text of the javascript, which is why javascript should normally be placed in an external file, but whether they extract the links from it is a gray area. It could be that there are links elsewhere on the page to the same location making it appear that the menu is being followed. But whatever the answer, most will agree that following javascript links is not done all of the time, and especially not by all search engines. On the other hand, the links in css menus will be followed since they are straight lnks so if one is looking to improve a pages index position, a css menu would be the better choice.
