webination Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 First thing I have to say is OScommerce is sick! It works so well for our store that we now need multiple administrators. I would like to divide duties between the shipper, the product updater and the site administrator. The question is how can I limit the rights of the 3 administrators. I don't want to give access to the shipper to change product info and I don't want the person updating product info to change shipping info etc. Thanks
dmnalven Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 I hope that you mean "slick". There is an add-on for this. Please search the contributions. For ALL problems, please review this link first -> osCommerce Knowledge Base

webination Posted May 28, 2008 Author Posted May 28, 2008 I guess I have been hanging around teenagers to long. Sick as in very good  I just checkout Admin Account with Access Level. It looked promising but I must be missing something as it appears to use terms I am not familiar with or perhpas it was developed in a different language and then changed to English. It is very hard to figure out how to create group for access purposes and then to grant rights to those groups. Perhaps when I get it to work I will translate it from "english in to english that people actually understand.

I installed Admin_Access-2.2 over top of an oscommerce-2.2rc2a install This looked good at first. I was able to limit rights to the marketing group. Unfortunatly there is a major flaw. Once installed the categories.php file does not disply correctly. This is of course essential. Without this access this contribution is effectively useless. In case there was a possibilty of an error on my part I reverted to the original admin for 2.2rc2a. This is no easy task as I found it required a restore from a backup. I then reinstalled the contribution from scratch with out altering any access rights and gain the catalog was nopt viewable. As it stands this bug needs to be fixed in order for this contribution to work with the most uptodate version of OScommerce.
