scranmer Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 Hi all, I have had a customer on the phone saying that when they tried to logon to one of our oscommerce sites they ended up in another customers account? Ive had a search and not found anything on here relating to this so has anyone else come accross this problem? or any ideas? i beleive it was a 2.2MS2 thats had most of the latest fixes applied but Im looking into this now. cheers, Simon.
Jack_mcs Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 It is probably your configure file is not setup correctly and/or you are have the cache set to use the servers tmp directory. But it could be other things. Have you tried searching for this problem since it comes up quite often? scranmer Posted May 27, 2008 Author Posted May 27, 2008 i did search the site but got millions of replies and could not find the same problem. To anyone else find this issue the search to use is "sid killer" its the old oscsid problem on old URLs check the following for full details http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?sho...m++kill++osCsid HTH Si.
scranmer Posted May 27, 2008 Author Posted May 27, 2008 actually after trying these Ive plumped for the standard osc settings force cookies & recreate sessions
Jack_mcs Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 The SID killer is not a good solution and is no longer needed. Setting the force cookie option will cost you customers. The better approach is to fix the actual problem. You could try posting your configure file here, without the database login information and also check the cache setting as suggested.
