1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax

I was working with Net firms to figure out why I could not get the music download to work without charging tax and the person at the help desk said there was something called "super download shop" that would fix the problem. He proceeded to attempt to install the add-on for me and in the process decided it was above his head. He claims to have backed up my database first and said he restored it. Since then I get the following error when I attempt to access the product attributes section of my database.

1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'MAX_ROW_LISTS_OPTIONS' at line 1

I am by no means a web developer and feel I too may be in over my head if the fix is very complicated. I did try to retore the backup file he said he created. The restore went through ok but I still have the same exact issue. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
