amateur8
I am the owner of a webshop, and have an independent contractor to program it. Now we have the issue that stock count is not correct if we use size attributes instead of a separate product for each size. The installation of QTpro v1.0 - Quantity Tracking Professional solves the issue, but the contractor claims we will loose all current product data if he installs and programs the add-on. Since his answers are very unclear on how to solve this issue, I would like to try and find out here directly if there is a way around this. So, in short: we have our shop filled with products, including size attributes. We would like "substract stock" and "mark product out of stock" to work on the attribute, not the main product. QTpro is supposed to solve this, but aparently it will force us to fill the store with all product data again - which is a lot of work. Any solution? Many thanks in advance, Leon. spooks
I dont know QTpro v1.0 but I can see that if it requires data in a different form it may be necessary to reload that data to suit, but here are automated processes to do that. You could look at Easy Populate Products Attributes http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/500 for example. Is QTpro v1.0 the only solution? I have added systems to stores with stock by attribute giving also seperate price by attribute without this problem. I would suggest you set up a test site, transfer everthing to there & work on that, avoids any chance of putting your store off line. Since I am not programming myself, but just trying to help out the contractor, do you have suggestions of what addons might be an alternative? Or any hint on what automated process to use? Much appreciated, Leon.
