jonellie51 Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 Hi Everyone I know this is probably an old topic but I do not seem to be able to get an answer that works. Whenever I click any email send option (Admin, Contact, Send Email, Lost Password etc.) I get a message that says the message has been sent. The only problem is it never arrives Why? Checking with Easyspace they say they do not have or provide an SMTP server so installing an additional contribution in the form of a remote SMTP configurator and Bingo - exactly the same message with eaxctly the same result - Zilch. I have tried new installations, every concievable set of options in the email panel but no result. I am going mad. The rest of the shop is all functional including PayPal carts but it is useless without the ability to send emails. HELP HELP HELP

jonellie51 Posted June 3, 2008 Author Posted June 3, 2008 I can now confirm that Easyspace have finally agreed that their system does not work with OSCommerce when it is used on a Windows Platform. Their answer was (after nearly a month) "I do apologise for the long delay for this issue. I have checked your OScommerce software and found that the script required the 'register_global' to be 'on' in order to run the script properly. But this has been disabled on our Windows server platform. I would recommend to switch the hosting to Linux this can be done with in 48-72 hours. Once the site has been moved to Linux the .htaccess file in your script will be working properly. However, you will need to re-install the software again after the move. Please confirm via this ticket if you wish me to process the change for you." My answer to them was "I am amazed. Not only does it take nearly a month for you to finally realise and agree that OScommerce one of the top eCommerce sites on the web does not work with your hosting package but you then tell me that the only way I can get it to work is to completley change my system over to Linux so that I can get your system to work. I have clearly been mis-sold this product as a "business hosting" package clearly it isn't. I hope this helps other people who may be considering Easyspace jonellie51
