Back End Missing

Please, I've just installed and apparently cannot find how to get to the back end (using windows). Sorry to be so dumb, but I've looked everywhere. My sincere gratitude to the person with the answer.

Do you mean ..... yoursite.com/admin ?

Make sure if you already locked down your admin folder you are using the correct username and password to access it.

Make sure you get an SSL on there too! Hope this is what you mean

Thanks for the reply, Wes. Not sure what you mean by "locked down my admin folder, but I have progressed to the point where I have added a few products. I'm using usrname & pwrd, so that's not a problem.

In order to get to admin I must type in ....my site.com/catalog/admin (must use "catalog" for my type of isntallation, I think, otherwise I get a "url not found)." That brings me to my merchant administration page where I can add prod. etc. but am unable to edit config to change to "read only" as I've been directed to do. I don't seem to have a feature called "chmod" on windows, and must go to "properties" to make "read only." But the only place I can find to do that is in my site host file manager. Trouble is "properties doesn't show up in those files. I feel like I've missed something in the download, maybe?
