scrapkats Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Hi I am now up to inserting my goods into the catalog - with the images, do they need to be a certain format? Most of the images I have are jpg. When putting the pictures in, some work and some don't - they just have an X. Are they required to be a certain size or smaller? The ones that work are only around 250kb and the ones that didn't are over 600kb. Or do they need to be named in a certain way? Thank you Kat "Life is short, break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably, and never regret anything that made you smile."
jhande Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Hey Kat, The jpg format is fine, as is the file sizes. Each image needs a unigue name, no duplicates. By default osC uploads the images to the image folder, so if you upload a second image with a similar name as a previous image it will get over-written. I use a simple naming method to avoid such problems - I start with an abbreviation for the manufacturer such as RMX, then I add the item number such as 1406. So for the thumbnail image I have RMX_1406_T.jpg and the large image RMX_1406.jpg. Another thing to look for using your host CPanel or your FTP program - did the image actually upload? A  where an image is supposed to be means the image is not where it is supposed to be according to the path. Hope this helps get you started! - :: Jim :: - - My Toolbox ~ Adobe Web Bundle, XAMPP & WinMerge | Install ~ osC v2.3.3.4 -
