Dustie
HI All, I have been working on this now for a week and have read every single post I could find here on the Weight issue :( Still can't make it work :( I have made the changes to KG(s) in the language file I have my Tare Weight to 0 My products are all under 200 gramms. Most are only as little as 4gramms. The most being about 150g. So when I put in the weight when placing the product. WHAT DO I PUT? 150 or 1.50 ? If I put in 150 it change it to 150.00. If I put in the 4gr as 0.04 it changes it to 4.00. The stangest thing though is that it is working the postage out correctly.....BUT in the Delivery information total 154 grams comes up as 164.40 KG(s) WHAT am I doing wrong????????? PLEASE please someone help me. If you need more information, please ask. I have nearly worked out everything else, but this is driving me nuts :(
Dustie
Please? I am sure someone has had this problem before. :(
markg-uk
If you're using KG, then 150g is 0.15. You say: 'If I put in the 4gr as 0.04 it changes it to 4.00.' 4g is 0.004 ;) . Where exactly are you seeing this change? On the product page? Displayed with shipping modules?
Dustie
First thank you for replying. I have now done the following, product weights I have put 0.15 for a product that weights 150gr and .004 for a product that weighs 4g. Now the weight AND postage is wrong :( 1. If I order 1 product with 150g and 1 at 4g it shows Shipping to AU : 0.165 kg(s) 3.50EUR 2. If I order 3 products at 150g each...1x at 4g.....it shows Shipping to AU : 0.495 kg(s) 3.50EUR Which is not only the wrong weight but price also. 1. should be 154g (postage is correct) 2. should be 454g and postage for that would be 6.50 and not 3.50 :(( Shipping table is...... 100 =100g 1000=1kg 100:3.50,250:6.50,500:10.00,1000:16.00 So where is the mistake? The shipping table or the weight in products??? :( I appreciate the help

Dustie
I honestly don't know what is more frustrating. Not getting my shipping/weight right, or coming to a Forum hoping to get some help, and not getting it :( Is what I am saying so hard to understand ? :( Or asking for free advise to rude here?? Sorry if I sound negative...but I honestly was under the impression this was a help forum :(

Guest
I am using Zone Rates and have 2 zones. I have checked and have no taxes or increases anywhere :( Not sure if you checked in admin to set shipping and packaging ---> tare weight correctly. On looking at your table again, 154 g should cost 6.50 454 g should be 10.

So I can't figure out where I putting in the wrong details :( My Tare weight is on

I am putting in the wrong information somewhere and I dont know where? I can delete and start again......come up with the same thing. thanks for trying to help

Jan Zonjee
Yes, that is what it should be, it it's actually changing the weight and not giving the right postage. So I can't figure out where I putting in the wrong details :( My Tare weight is on 0 Yes, but your settings for larger packages (percentage) is probably still set at 10%. Then entering your products as kilograms (150 grams = 0.15 kg) and then setting up a table rate using the weight in grams instead of kilograms and then expecting it to miraculously work anyway doesn't make much sense IMHO. Dustie
Wow...it seems to be working :D I have put the weight in as 150 for 150g and 4 for grams ...I have NOT used decimals. I have my tare weight on 20, which I assume should be the weight of the Envelope I ship the product in? I have max. weight on 1000. I have done a test order using both of my zones...and it WORKS till now :D so unless something goes wrong again , I would say thank you for finally responding. Jan thank you for the link. Think thats what did it in the end. BUT one thing is not clear to me. ON the sample in that link there is an option *Default shipping Unit* My version of oscommerse doesn't have this option. Is that a contribution?? anyways.-thank you all.......will go and work on it now :)

ON the sample in that link there is an option *Default shipping Unit* My version of oscommerse doesn't have this option. Is that a contribution?? No, the documentation is for version 3, which is still in alpha. The docs for version 2 have been removed a long time ago, unfortunately. Most of the settings are the same although the admin pages look different but the shipping units is something that is available in version 3, but not in version 2. In version 2 everything has to be in the same unit (that is why I'm surprised your settings seem to work but then again I don't set up any new shops). Dustie
Well my shipping unit is all the same...at least I thought so. GRAMS :) I think my problem was using the decimal in the weight -> 0.150 and 0.004 gram. Now with 150 and 4 it seems to be working :) Seeing as I don't ship over 1000g I have changed the weight unit in languages (I have 3) to gr instead of kg, so it's much clearer now that the weight is only in grams. I have tested it a couple of times, and still works. After I put in more products with different weights and use larger quantities, I will see if it's still okay...... Do you know when the version 3 is available? Or is it already??
