Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /website/catalog/admin/includes/header.php on line 1

I get this error message when I try to access admin.

Line 1 in header.php is the php opening tag.

The only change I made (after saving the original in a backup dir) was to remove the html table that contained the account, cart and checkout graphics. Unfortunately, I used Windows Notepad to make the changes and it collapsed all the lines in both the backup and new files when I saved. I thought maybe this was the problem, so went back thru and carefully added line breaks, in all the (I hope) right places, but it didn't fix the problem...

Any ideas? If not, where can I get a copy of the default file header.php so I don't have to remove & reinstall the whole programme?

Thanks,

Okay, I downloaded osCommerce into a temp folder on my computer, opened the header.php and ftp'd it (unchanged) to my site. I still get the same fatal error when trying to access the admin panel. This is getting frusturating!

Is that the full error message you are getting? And is this for the admin or live side of your website?

That is the full error message, and it occurs when I try to access the admin side by typing

website/catalog/admin

it continued to give me the same error even after I deleted the header.php file that I had made changes to, and uploaded the default file.

thanks,
