xmitman Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Hi Everyone, I have a person who is messing with me by placing fake COD orders. Of course, every time I ship it costs me money. Most of our business is COD and I cannot discontinue this option. The guy said he would cause me problems for no reason at all other than he doesn't like me, he never ordered anything from me , just doesn't like me. I have learned he owns a pizza shop, so I could make fake orders as well but don't want to go down that road unless there is no other way. Does anybody have a solution on what I can do about this? Most of the email addresses from customers come from Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, and as most of us probably know, it is difficult to email to these accounts as the emails go to the Spam box in most cases, so confirming orders by email is not a good solution unless somebody knows a way to get email delivered to these email addresses without it going to the Spam box. Is there a way to prove who is submitting orders? If so, I can go to the courts and get a judgement. Any help is appreciated. Xmitman
FIMBLE Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 if you can get his IP number you can add an entry in your .htaccess like deny from: ipnumber or if you have it in your Cpanel an IP Deny setting. But then it depends if his IP is changing or static. how about a call back service to confirm the address? untill he gives up anyhow! None of it is as solid as you need it to be but just might help.
