MikeUnwired Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 OK, I see forum posts about similar topics, but I can't find an exact match. I've been working and fine-tuning a new store for the last few months. At the time of initial install, I didn't have a SSL certificate, so I installed without https/SSL. I figure it's essential that I implement one so my customers will feel comfortable and protected. I'm sure that I don't need the whole catalog and such running on a secure server, but I'm pretty sure that once the customer starts to enter financial / payment data, I need security. The last thing I really want to do is start over with a clean install. And, I'm not savvy enough to figure it out myself. How do I implement this change without having to rebuild everything from the start? I haven't "bought" my certificate from my host company (1 & 1) yet, so I'm really at the beginning on this -- which might be good as I haven't misapplied the certificate yet.
FIMBLE Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Hi Mike, All you will need to change once it is installed is your configure.php files, one in Admin / includes and one in Catalog / includes Change the HTTPS server to your HTTPS address and then set enable SSL? to true by just deleting false, and type it in there.
