FearTheHands
This may seem like a beginners question, but I have a valid reason asking it: Should an 'order confirmation' email be sent out each time someone places an order on our oscommerce site ? I ask as I have a site that has been up & running successfully for 18 months for someone else & I have just learnt that the person who actually sends out orders received from the shopping cart does NOT receive order confirmation emails from oscommerce. They simply check the site each day & cross check with paypal that the money has been received. Am I right in thinking that a confirmation order should be sent from oscommerce for each order to the email address you specify in Configuration>My Store>E-mail Address ? If so, any pointers as to why this email is not being sent ? This is a particular issue as the store owner is also not receiving any special instructions / comments about orders placed which I believe should be added to the confirmation email & is also included on the email the customer receives ? Thanks
bobg7
The store owners email address also needs to be added to the 'Send Extra Order Emails to:' block Installed Contributions: CCGV, Close Popup, Dynamic Meta Tags, Easy Populate, Froogle Data Feeder, Google Position, Infobox Header Entire Row, Live Support for OSC, PayPal Seal with CC images, Report_m Sales, Shop by Price Revised, SQL Updater, Who's Online Enhancement, Footer, GNA EP Assistant and still going. FearTheHands
The store owners email address also needs to be added to the 'Send Extra Order Emails to:' block Thanks for the reply I do have this field setup to my own email address but have never received a single order confirmation email yet! Any ideas as to why & where I should look to solve this problem ? Plus, I am right in thinking that the order info is sent along with extra comments in this email once an order is made ? Thanks I have had my store for many years and also received email confirmations. Set same email address in Configuration>My Store> email address Configuration>My Store> email from Configuration>My Store> send extra order emails then check Configuration>Email Options> email transport method is sendmail This should be enough

I've had semi successful results altering this - can you confirm the following? Configuration>My Store> email address Configuration>My Store> email from Configuration>My Store> send extra order emails For all of the above are you simply using the email address '[email protected]' instead of a name & email address 'My Name <[email protected]>' ? I have received some email, but not all as I had a combination of both, so am now trying just the email address on it's own - which do you use ? shartney
Yes only add '[email protected]' in all these areas Ahh, finally.. the answer.. I've open 30+ from search  Now another related question; what is the format for multiple emails the "send extra.... " field. I had from the manual: name <[email protected]>, name2 <[email protected]>, name3 <[email protected]> That didn't work, so I changed to: [email protected] , [email protected] , [email protected] Is this the proper format? Thanks, Steven [~Steven

shartney
That didn't work, so I changed to: [email protected] , [email protected] , [email protected] Is this the proper format? CONFIRMED !! The quoted format is correct for "send extra.... " field. The format from the manual did not work for me, and this does. [~Steven
