Hi, can someone please tell me how to change the fields that gets picked up through the admin side on the specials section?

At the moment it displays products name and price which is not enough to give us a clear description of the product. I would like to add to this manufacturer and product model, which will make it easier for us to know exactly which product we are reducing in price.

I would also like to add these fields to the final view that gets displayed within the store.

Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Adding the products_model field of the products table should not be that difficult. You edit the specials query to add products_model to it e.g.

$specials_query_raw = "select p.products_id, pd.products_name, p.products_model, p.products_price, p.products_tax_class_id

Adding the Manufacturer to it is more difficult because you have to join the Manufacturers table into the query. You have to link the manufacturers_id in the products table to the manufacturers_id in the manufacturers table and pull in the associated manufacturers_name.

Vger, for my needs it's enough to use/add to the select the product model.

I need to show the product model instead of the product name in the popdown menu

Vger, for my needs it's enough to use/add to the select the product model.

Here is the code of my specials.php page (it's been modified also to enable specials only for a specific customer or group of customers)

Hi all!!

I need this too. It would be very useful if we could chose the filds printed in the form in next versions.

This is the line in wich the products´name and price are listed:

Alcova you could post only the necessary information...

I thought it was simple too... but I couldn't solve the puzzle. :(

I think so, but I didin´t get it. Vger I added the information needed for the variables, but no success so far...Considering that I edited only the admin/specials.php. Any hint?
