hi, I am setting up a new online store, and I don't know of the shipping costs... the only thing i know is the weight of the product...

is there a UPS estimator? or somehow during checkout the customer enters there zip code and makes a calculation?

what is the best option for my situation?

thanks!

There's any number of ways you can handle this situation. If you do use exclusively UPS and you want to have the catalog calculate based on your UPS rates, look in the contributions for a UPS module. I'm sure there is one, but I don't use UPS for my store, so cannot recommend one specifically, perhaps someone else can. There are a few that I can see, but they depend on whether you are using WorldShip software or not.

If you know your UPS rates, you could also use the standard Table Rate shipping module included in osC where you set shipping costs based on weights.

I tried to figure out how to use the shipping in osC based on weights, but i need the customer's zip code to get a definite price using UPS's website. how would i do this using just the weights?

You would need to install one of the zone rates or table rates.
