centrios40 Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Hi, I am new to osCommerce; i have a couple of questions: 1 > How do you optimize your website when using osCommerce? I was thinking of using this... "CRE SEO URLs" http://www.creloaded.com/Add-On_Modules/c2...o.html?CDpath=1 Can you easily install this on osCommerce, or will it only work for CRE Loaded? Are there any other products or modules/addons for SEO for osCommerce? 2 > is there an easier way for managing your store? again I was thinking of going with: "MagneticOne Store Manager for osCommerce" http://oscommerce-manager.com ... What do you think? are there other products out there. Please if you have any advice on SEO or Store Management please let me know!! I am specifically looking for easy to use methods with little to no programming scripting, because I don't know any. ADVANCE THANKS!
Ausgirl Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Firstly this is the Oscommerce forum not Cre-Loaded, if you want help with Cre-Loaded you need to go to the Cre-Loaded forums. For OSC SEO - Take your Pick

Ausgirl Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 No, they dont do the same thing, install all of them, they shouldnt over rite any original files. Header Tags Controller: This is a lot better than using basic Meta Tags Ultimate SEO URLs: This will change the wording in your address bar from something like this: http://www.yoursite.com/cPath/111_314/prod...e08cbce5d88d263 To This: http://www.yoursite.com/magazines-p-80.html? SEO Assistant: This will help you keep track on things like: Keyword Density, Check Links, Header Status, Harmful Links, Page Rank and more! All to do with your site.

MUCH APPRECIATED! would you know of an easier way to manage your store? like a desktop software or something? i found http://www.oscommerce-manager.com and im thinking of getting but would rather find an open source program or something. thanks
Ausgirl Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 Nothing more easier than your Admin. Besides you dont need something like that to manage your site. You can also use plenty of free HTML Editors out there.

You can also use plenty of free HTML Editors out there. you can use html editors to edit your oscommerce website? i had someone setup oscommerce up for me, and im very proud of myself because i added the "easy populate" module myself... nonetheless, editing product descriptions, attributes and adding images is hell even with easy populate.... which is why i was looking for a store manager or something. im not good and don't know php and quite nervous when editing in it.
Ausgirl Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 Its not hard, only seems that way cause your not familiar with it, you can either have a go yourself or if money is no object you can pay your way through it. Either way you need to learn so you can maintain your site. Its up to you whether you choose the free way or the expensive way. Its just personal preference.
