tiggerkisz Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 I have only had the site 3 days. Someone else built the site for me and then it was loaded to Lunar for hosting. Yesterday I changed the domain name after being assured it would not cause problems. The Lunar hosting part has the new name working. The issue is the osCommerce portion. It won't reject the old domain name and I do not know where or how to change it. I can manually over-ride and type the new domain in the address bar to sign into osCommerce and do that every single time I click on something. The catalog is not working at all. Can anyone help. I have read through the prior posts and understand nothing. I contacted the individual that made the website and this was his reply: You can try editing BOTH of the configure.php files and adding the new domain name into those files. There are two configure.php files in each of the stores (2 for the gift shop, and 2 for the ebook store). I don't know if that will fix all of your problems but you can try it. It should work (hopefully). Which would be okay if I knew what they were or where to find them. Please help in "know nothing" language...or PM and we can $ee how thi$ can be worked out. Thank you in advance for the a$$i$tance.
web-project Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 simply update the configure.php files and the problems should disappear. Please read this line: Do you want to find all the answers to your questions? click here. As for contribution database it's located here! 8 people out of 10 don't bother to read installation manuals. I can recommend: if you can't read the installation manual, don't bother to install any contribution yourself. Before installing contribution or editing/updating/deleting any files, do the full backup, it will save to you & everyone here on the forum time to fix your issues. Any issues with oscommerce, I am here to help you.

Please if you know anyone that can help fix this issue............ :'( Hi Tammy, calm down, take a deep breath and then change these files: includes/configure.php or catalog/includes/configure.php (depending on where your store is located) and admin/includes/configure.php change the urls to suit and hey presto that should sort you out. Job Done! Aran

Job Done! Aran Deep breathes and a really long nap. Thank you for your help. Adding the "includes" really helped to because part of the prob was not being able to find them. I have a renewed and deeper respect for everyone in "web building" land! This stuff is tough. Again, I really appreciate the help! It's working now! YEAH! Tammy
