inventory management?

hi all -

i'm new to this forum and i am new to osc. so hello to everyone and thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

 

i am in the process of setting up a online business selling both via ebay and online store.

 

great auctionblox and oscommerce.

 

but my question is regarding stock management.

 

i want to be able to handle my inventory as effectively as possible

 

at a basic level (basic??)

 

get a list of all stock below miniumum stock level sorted via supplier

 

order stock from this list

 

email order to supplier

 

have ordered stock qty saved (and "qty on order") attached to each item

 

be able to recall this list of stock on order when order arrives -

 

update prices and anything else that needs to be

 

and have stock qty adjusted automatically from receiving this order.

 

am i dreaming?

 

how are people currently handling their inventory?

 

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

thanks geffrey - i have spent quite a few hours crawling contributions and forum.

 

the low stock reporting is helpful but only halfway there.

 

i'm looking for something to handle the ordering stock / receiving stock process (including backorders if possible)

 

anymore suggestions?

Did you ever find a solution for this? I would like to do the same thing as far as ordering and receiving tables.
