Need help with New Site

Hey EVERYONE! New to this site, have read a few posts and this place seems perfect for me to begin my journey with eCommerce sites.

 

Ok - I am pretty new to all this but I really want to learn and do well. I just purchased a template from templatemonster and I am looking at all these files, none of them are .html :S how do i edit them and how do i install them on my hosting thing. Please direct me to any step by step tutorial for a total NOOB because I need some seroius help, i dont kno where to begin all i have right now is a template and no idea how to use it thanks everyone! ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

If you bought from there then this forum will not be able to help much as the files will have been messed around with so much none of the code will be default.

If you want to try, then use the pinned topic here

Also they do not use the latest version of OSC, think they are all milestone2.2 we are a few moves on from there now.

Thanks Nic, well is there a site that you guys would recommend getting a template from that is easy to use/edit and i can find good information on how to run my site? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Why not have a go yourself?

There are plenty out there who will do so, try google.

There are also lots of free templates too.

well, I'm really not sure how to start a template or anything, ive tried google but have just been confused to my avail. :( Say i downloaded a template how would i start my process ?

 

1. Buy hosting (From who?)

2. Get a template (from who/or how to make one)

3. Edit the site through the osCommerce cpanel?
