default setting for remove items checkboxes in shopping cart

For some reason the REMOVE checkboxes in my shopping cart are all turned ON by default. So if someone changes the quantity and doesn't notice this, when they click UPDATE all the items disappear from their cart!

 

I think the REMOVE checkboxes were all off until recently. Otherwise I would have had complaints much earlier. I recently installed a contribution that turned the Newsletter checkbox (in account setup) ON by default, and I wonder whether this somehow changed the checkbox on the shopping cart screen.

 

I've installed several OSC carts, but I'm no PHP heavy. Can you help me figure out where to look?

what's the name of the contribution? how does this contribution work?

 

if it's adding some javascript to the page that automatically 'checks' all your checkboxes, and this somehow gets into your shopping cart page, it will check all those boxes as well. if the install of this contribution puts this code into your header or footer, this would certainly explain what's going on. take another look at the contribution and how it works, you may find your answer.
