Banner Ads at top or sides of website pages

Greetings All!

 

I am the definition of a "newbie" when it comes to oscommerce and php. I want to customize my website to make it look more professional, and one of the ways I wish to do this is something I hope someone can help me with.

 

I sell computer parts and supplies as well as new pc's and laptops on my website. I want to either create animated flash banners, or insert flash banners that I get from my suppliers on my website either at the top of the pages or even in the columns would do! Creating the flash .swf files is not the problem. The problem is that I don't know how to incorporate them into my website.

 

Can anyone help me? I looked at the contrib's and thought I found one that might help. However when I tried to read it, it looked like it had been translated to english from another language, and I can't really understand it.

 

I feel that oscommerce and php can do alot of great things, and that I'm only using 1/10 of 1% of it's capabilities. I'd like to make my website as functional and professional as possible.

 

Any help that someone could give me, would be greatly appreciated.
