Database problem - Need Help!

Hi,

 

I dont know how, maybe I am hacked but my files which are on my server was deleted (not my database only files like configure.php etc).I uploaded the file and everything came back.But when i want to login to admin panel, it writes "Unable to connect to database server!"

 

My database is still there, it is not deleted but why cant I connect to database? What should I do to fix it?

did you update the admin/includes/configure.php file? or just the includes/configure.php? you might need to reset both of them, as admin uses a separate file.

 

and if you *ever* think that you might have been hacked - change all of your passwords! don't take the chance than someone can get in there again.

arietis thanks for your reply.i've changed my passwords.

 

i think i couldnt tell my problem clearly.not only configure.php, all my files deleted except database.My database is still there.I've uploaded all of the files back but still i couldnt log in to admin.

well, the 'unable to connect to database server' happens when your database information is incorrect. so one or more of your server, username, password, or database name settings is incorrect. unfortunately, that's all i can tell you from where i'm sitting. :)

 

if all of the files disappeared, it might be easier to contact your host and see if they can restore them from a backup. that way everything will be put back the way it was - hopefully in working order.
