Hi,

I would like to know if its possible (or easy), to allow only a certain payment method to a specified customer.

The reason why I ask, I have a heavily modified store, and sometimes customers phone up and I have to process thier orders manually though the card machine.

This is due to they either want a discount or do not want to sign up etc, etc. Or their card details dont match etc..

I would like to create a user called CARD MACHINE and process their orders manually via the website, so I can keep a record on total sales via reports after I have already done the orders this on the physical card machine.

A better method, would be in admin, as sometimes I do different products at different prices when asked on the telephone, that I could just enter a total price in like 3 fields, exc VAT, inc VAT + Delivery charge, for any item sold, and this would still show up the the reports module, so my boss can calculate total profit and of course my bonus ;)

Is there any contribution to do this already?

Kind regards

Chris

Hello Chis,

Yes it is possible. Most payment modules support the possibility of only accepting certain types of card through a parameter call e.g. "card type". When you setup to for example only accept payments through MasterCard, the payment gateway or module, will only accept this card (the different card can be validated through their prefix. This is a unique card number range for each type of cards).

If you use our module you can select which card you want to accept in the osCommerce admin to the payment module. You find the module here osCommerce download page

Should you have any questions regarding our module or how to accept online payments on your website, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Kind Regards,

Thomas Pedersen
