axara Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 Hi all, Before everything, my skill levels: can manage to decipher codes and tweak it a bit, so not a novice but not a thoroughbred like most of you here. I have used OSC on online shops. But now I am faced with a different possible use of OSC for my work as a part of order process streamlining in a small biz B2B scenario. Below is the situation. There are numerous vendors that provide us products, so vendors V could provide different variations of product P. Our staff have frequent requests to vendors. So they look for the product closest to their requirement, and are displayed a list of products P available to them. They then select the ones they want to look into (or want the vendors to look into), and also assign a preference 1,2 or 3. Each staff selected P may or may not be assigned a preference number. They then put it in the 'shopping cart'. The vendors V of selected products P are notified via email. The vendor then looks at their incoming requests, chooses to either ACCEPT, DECLINE or HOLD on any such requests, and then the staff and vendors work together, and hopefully, out of my responsibility area. OSC would be an ideal tool to begin with, based on my experience with it for e-shopfronts. The only gritty bit is that there is no table structure to allow me to setup vendors, eg: Vendor details, Product details and Vendor x Product matrix. Any help, suggestions or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone thinks I am nuts to attempt to tweak OSC to achieve my requirements, I would be grateful to you for pointing me in the right direction. Thank you _x
