precisionpros Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 We have had this site installed for years: http://katzandco.com/catalog/ We recently noticed that when you go to the page the first time, the categories have a sessionid string when you hover to see the url you will be going to. If you click on one of the categories, the page merely refreshes and the sessionid goes away. You then need to click the category again, and this time the proper page comes up. Why is this happening and how can we fix it? We are worried that we might be losing clients because they click on a category the first time and nothing happens. Thanks

Thanks The session ID operation you describe s correct but the clicking twice on a category is not and I doubt they are related. If this isn't a standard oscommerce shop, and assuming it is only the categories that are doing that, try including the original categories box (although that may give an error). If it displays and works properly, then it is the template you are using. They probably didn't convert the code correctly. spooks Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 As I said before, Set Force Cookie Use to true, Once done you should never see the sesion id! I suspect someone has added code that has failed to regenerate id in the get, so its lost. Just because the site run for years don`t stop you introducing errors. <_< Sam Remember, What you think I ment may not be what I thought I ment when I said it. Do you have force cookie use set to true? <_< Forcing cookies to true, while it may fix the problem, will cost you customers and should be avoided.
