Paypal Checkout Store Name

Hi i am on Oscommerce v2.2 RC2 and i am using Paypal Website Payments Standard as my Payment Modules but when a customer goes to the check out it says my store name instead of the item name, i have found something on google telling me how to do it through includes / modules / payment / paypal.php but i have gone to that folder on my sever and it is not there so that must be for another version the one i am using is includes / modules / payment / paypal_standard.php i will post the html source code and if you could let us know what to change that would be great many thanks chris

to get the items instead of your store name you will need to install the PayPal IPN contribution and set the "Transaction Type" to Per Item.

8 people out of 10 don't bother to read installation manuals. I can recommend: if you can't read the installation manual, don't bother to install any contribution yourself.

Before installing contribution or editing/updating/deleting any files, do the full backup, it will save to you & everyone here on the forum time to fix your issues.

I have the same issue with PayPal Standard in Oscommerce v2.2 RC2 - and it doesn't appear that the PayPal IPN contribution is meant to work with RC2.

 

Nevertheless, I've downloaded the contrib & uploaded the files into the same directory structure on my site. But the IPN module isn't showing up in the payment modules section of my admin panel.

 

Elsewhere on this forum - http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?sho...40&start=40 - there is a proposed fix to make OsCommerce pass the item names, item numbers, descriptions & quantities to PayPal, but it is designed to be inserted in paypal.php - which doesn't exist in RC2 - and not paypal_standard.php. Has anyone made this fix with paypal_standard.php?

Here's everything spelled out for people like me:

 

  • First - contrary to what it says in the documentation for OsCommerce v2.2 RC2a, PayPal Standard doesn't actually replace the IPN contrib, since it doesn't allow for sending an itemized order to PayPal.
  • Second, the PayPal IPN contrib absolutely does work with RC2 (not just MS2, as stated in the documentation for that contrib.)
  • Third, when you upload the PayPal IPN contrib to your website, it shows up in your Admin payment modules as Credit/Debit Card (via PayPal).

From that point on, it's exactly as stated numerous times in this forum: In the Credit/Debit Card (via PayPal) payment module, set the Transaction Type to "Per Item."
