Jeffie Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 Can anyone help me with changing full url's to relative links site-wide. I put together a website for a friend about a year ago (herbsandhoney.co.uk). She has now sold the physical highstreet shop but has kept the online store. She wants to keep on trading from the website but is nolonger able to use the domain name. I have registered a new name, herbal-emporium.co.uk and my host company has set up a SSL for it. http://www/herbal-emporium.co.uk successfully loads and displays correctly. However when you click on any link it tries to take you to the old website (herbsandhoney) which no longer exists. My host company tells me I need to change the links from full url's to relative links. Can anyone tell me how to do this. I have over 400 products on the store so I am hoping they will be a setting in the css or somewhere rather than changing every link? Please help Thanks Jeff
ErollorD Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 am u need to change domain probably, check in configure.php in includes/ and in admin/includes and change it there...
Jeffie Posted April 30, 2008 Author Posted April 30, 2008 Thanks for such a quick response. It has solved part of the problem. i wasn't sure if in the two configure.php files i should change the link to https://www.herbal-emporium.co.uk or http://www.herbal-emporium.co.uk. I tried both and in both instances I get the following problem: When loading the site it shows a warning saying the page contain secure and non-secure elements. The pictures load fine if you go to http://www.herbal-emporium.co.uk but drop out if you go to https://www.herbal-emporium.co.uk My host company tells me that if I change the links to relative ones the images will load correctly. Do you know how to solve this?
