ordered quantity changes to 99 automatically

I faced an unusual problem while browsing my store.

 

I want to have a facility for bulk orders on my store, when I entered 150 in the quantity text box (shopping cart) and after pressing enter the quantity changes to 99 automatically, though the number of stock of that item left is more than 800 in the admin section. what's the problem here and why I am not able to enter quantities more than 99 in the shopping cart page ?

can somebody throw some light on the problem I am facing.

Go to your_store/admin and in the "maximum values" section,

set/change the value for Product Quantities In Shopping Cart
