Guest
I'm using RC2 and the default Paypal IPN module (v2.3.2) that comes installed. I have it activated, and it seems to work well when set to "Aggregate". When I turn it on to "Per Item", however, I start to get errors. It will attempt to send the order over to Paypal, but returns an error that information is missing from the transaction. If you then go back and try to submit the order again, it (during transfer to Paypal) tells the user that the order has been placed and to contact the administrator/store. Payment is never sent and the order is never really placed. I need to find a reliable way to send the items ordered over to Paypal in the initial transaction so that they show up on the in the transaction details. I will then be able to send out product because I can see what the customer ordered in Paypal. Any help/thoughts on how to pass this information would be helpful. Thanks. From my experience and what I've read on the forums, the "per item" setting has been typically been unstable requiring folks to use the "aggregate" setting. I personally have had issues with the "per item". One SUGGESTION, I recommend always checking the order in your admin panel against the details of the PayPal transaction; I find that about 5% of customers enter a different shipping address in your shop vs. what they enter in PayPal and this can get messy, it is typically the PayPal address that is not current as well and I've had a few customers get bent out of shape with me because I shipped to the "verified" PayPal address and not the shipping address they entered in the shop. I always print an invoice from my OSC admin to include in the package and check the address. As always, please read this with consideration that it is just my opinions or experience.. -Mark Edited April 28, 2008 by mmph
