wordx Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 We have a drop ship store with vendors in various EU nations, in the US, and in Asia. The operation of our store has been casual, but we're about to up the quality of the site. So, we're trying to figure out how to handle VAT and duties in a really upfront way. How do YOU do it? For example. We have a customer in the UK. That customer places an order for a product coming from a vendor in Germany. Does the customer have to pay VAT? Duties? US to Europe is clear. The customer may have to pay. And the US customer has to pay duties if the product qualifies. Better to ask the customer to pay? Or pre-charge them and let Fedex pay the taxes? Just curious if anyone has any experiences they'd like to share.
