whenever I receive a order I don't get a email about it as well as it doesn't show up in the admin/order.php. I don't know what's going on and I have no idea where to start looking for a answer.

Please if anyone is able to help me with this please do

If using Pay Pal read below:

************************

Pay Pal Standard Module

-----------------------

If you are using the default Pay Pal Module that comes with

osCommerce and are wondering why the orders don't get added

to the database, the stock updated, and that no order

confirmation e-mails get sent out - this is the reason.

You are reliant upon the customer hitting the 'Continue'

button on the Pay Pal website at the end of their purchase,

which then returns them to your website, updates the database,

updates the stock quantity, empties their shopping cart,

and sends the order confirmation e-mails out.

There are two solutions:

1. Use the official osCommerce Pay Pal IPN. This is the

only IPN module which begins with 'osCommerce'. It is

also the only IPN module with a completely new and

free-standing set of files - meaning that you don't

have to edit any other files in order to install it.

2. Go to your Pay Pal account, go to Profile, and

sign up for their Auto-Return service - which returns the

customer to your website automatically after a delay of a

few seconds. The return url you must provide is something

like this (adjust as necessary for your website):

http://www.yourdomain.com/checkout_process.php

Where do I go to find more info. on the first option. Im still new to this

Do you know what version of osC your are using? The RC1 & RC2 versions have the latest PayPal modules already installed. If you are using the 060817 and older versions, then you would need to follow the advice of Vger above.

That release actually has several different versions such as 060817 (released in August 2006), RC1 (Released in July 2007 I think) and two RC2 releases, RC2 and the most recent RC2a (the version that is available now as of this posting anyway).

Here are the links to the osCommerce version of the PayPal modules. Use the module that correlates to the PayPal account that you have:

PayPal Web Payments Standard

PayPal Web Payments Pro

PayPal Express Payments

Then you would need to install one of the above modules manually since they are new to your version of osC. The download includes detailed installation and configuration instructions that should be all that you need.
