God's Eternal Masterpiece Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 Hello, I am using the Multi-Vendor Shipping Contribution and I am having problems with my table rate shipping prices. For my first vendor, I set up my shipping rate table as follows: Table Rate Enable Table Method True Shipping Table 50:6.50,75:11.25,100:15,125:15,150:18 Table Method price Handling Fee 0 Tax Class --none-- Shipping Zone --none-- Sort Order 0 However, no matter what the price of my shopping cart, even when it's way over 50 dollars, I'm still getting 6.50 for the shipping price. For my second vendor, my table rate looks like this: Table Rate Enable Table Method True Shipping Table 25:8.50,50:5.50,10000:0.00 Table Method weight Handling Fee 0 Tax Class --none-- Shipping Zone --none-- Sort Order 0 However, the calculated shipping price for a product that costs $99.99 is $8.50! Where did that number come from, and why won't my tables work? I was not able to get a reply in the MVS contribution forum. Thank you for any help!
cristina.solana Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 Have you changed you max weight in the Configuration > Shipping area to more than 50? That is probably the problem. I believe it breaks it down into boxes if it exceeds you max weight.
colourfuldesigns Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 Have you changed you max weight in the Configuration > Shipping area to more than 50? That is probably the problem. I believe it breaks it down into boxes if it exceeds you max weight. I have stumbled across this same problem while setting up oscommerce today, and I thought I would post the answer to help anyone else who is stuck. A few things affect the shipping cost... Go to Configuration->Shipping/Packaging Here you will find: -Enter the Maximum Package Weight you will ship -Package Tare weight. -Package Tare weight. Go to Modules->Shipping->Table Rate Here you will find - Shipping Table - Table Method - Handling Fee Among others.. The info when you click on them explains what each is for. But basically you need to set the max weight to the maximum weight of package you will ship, anything over this the packaging will be calculated as multiple smaller parcels (this will give you what seem to be very random shipping costs). The Tare weight is the weight of you packaging without the goods, e.g. goods = 1Kg, packaging = 0.2kg, total weight 2.2Kg, this is then used in to lookup in the shipping cost table (Modules->Shipping->Table Rate - Shipping Table). (This tare weight may push your goods into the next shipping band e.g. if your goods weigh 2kg, and your shipping band is up to 2kg, with the tare weight added it will use the next shipping band). If you have specified a handling fee this will also be added on. Also you need to use the same units everywhere, so if you specify the weight of your items in Kgrams in the catalog, you need the shipping table max package weight and tare weight to all be in Kgrams. I hope this helps everyone!
