H20hum
Hi, Thanks to everyone for helping get the store up and running. Its been a long time coming, but I'm now very pleased with the end result. I would greatly appreciate anyone's comments and suggestions on my site. www.UtopiaComputers.co.uk Thanks in advance, Craig
♥Vger
The only thing I can find to critique in the design of the site is that the top nav bar falls across the two shaded background bars (dark grey and black). As for functionality I find the following: 1. I don't see how your site can be Protx Secured when it has no SSL (SSL connections are required by Protx). 2. I would never buy from a site which did not protect my personal details with SSL encryption. 3. No "Ultimate SEO URL's" - major loss. 4. No cDynamic Meta Tags - major loss. Vger Hi Vger, Thanks for the quick feedback. The nav bar isnt a design fault it was intended to look like a sort of tint on the bar, but i see how it would come across as if it were miss-aligned. As for the site not being protx secure: once you click checkout it will take you to the protx website where it handles the secure payment so no payment details are asked for on our site. Only the basket items, customers name & address are passed onto the Protx secure payment system, i guess this could be "encrypted" in a way, so looking into it asap. The SSL encryption didn't really seem too much of a problem for us since no payment details are asked for on our website, but again you are correct in saying your personal details could be as some sort of risk. So again, we will be looking at getting SSL on there. The cDynamic Meta Tags + Ultimate SEO URL's - we weren't aware of these contributions so thanks for pointing them out we will look into getting them installed since they seem to help quite a bit from what i have read. This is the first time we have used oscommerce so we weren't 100% on all the functionality and contributions available. Thanks again for the feedback - some good points made :)

If they don't see that lock, they don't press any of those submit or continue buttons. I have SSL encryption and I still get phone calls from customers who do not want to give their information out over the internet. They're generally older people, but the younger people who are tech-savy are really the only ones ones who will purchase computer components online. And they are pretty observant to the SSL encryption status.

I have been in touch with our hosting company and have applied for SSL to be implemented ASAP. Thanks for the feedback, its very much appreciated. Cheers, Craig
