Little OSC / template tweaking help?

Howdy,

 

I wsa hoping to get a little help with an OSC setup and a new algozone template plopped over it.

 

1) On the main page I coudl edit hte contents by editing the includes\languages\english\index.php but now that the template is installed, editing this file no longer changes the main page contents. Anyone else used one of their templates and know where/how to edit this content?

 

2)I also lost the search box in the template.. Any way to get it back in the tempalte, or do I just live without it?

 

3) How do I change the items shown in the 'new products' display to be ones I choose manually?

 

4) In the information part of the left hand edge, how can I manually add pages to appear as links there?

 

5) How do I change the "New Products for April" to just "New and featured items"?

What do the template people say?

With these it is hard to give advice as sometimes the OSC is followed other times the template looks nice but is hard coded, so you cannot use traditional methods to change them.

The template people are lame, but I did figure out how to edit the main page content on my own.

 

I originally had lots of custom mods done and the template plopped right over the top and didnt hurt anything, and all of the mods worked fine with the template too, so it looks pretty forgiving as far as affecting the regular OSC stuff.
