glammabags Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Hello all I am using Netfirms to host my OsCommerce site for the past 5 months. Yesterday evening when I tried to access the admin panel to check on my orders and to add some products I couldn't get through and found this message instead next to a Netfirms logo: "In order to view your homepage, please name your main page "index.htm" (using lower case letters)." I contacted Netfirms, and got a reply almost 20 hours later saying that what I need to do is change my homepage to index.htm and place it in my www.mysite.com/shop/admin folder. (note that I access admin through that URL path) It did not make much sense, so what I did is that I changed admin/index.php to admin/index.htm BUT I keep getting the same message. Netfirms "so called" 24/7 customer service is not coming back to me with any suggestions and I was hoping that someone in this great forum that has been so helpful till now :-) might have some ideas?! Thanks a lot
glammabags Posted April 21, 2008 Author Posted April 21, 2008 One hour later, still no feedback from hosting company and now I get the following messages when trying to access shop/admin: IE: This error (HTTP 403 Forbidden) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the website, but it does not have permission to view the webpage. Firefox: "cannot read ....shop/admin/.htaccess" Any ideas?? :'( Hello all I am using Netfirms to host my OsCommerce site for the past 5 months.
