Hello,

I decided to take my site down last year, and just downloaded my entire site directory with FTP into a folder on my computer.

Im trying to put it back up by a simple-reupload of everything hoping it will somehow work again ( I have hgh hopes ) but doesnt seem to work. many of the files do not upload:

from the vdsbackup folder for instance:

Command: STOR upload_form.htm

Response: 553 upload_form.htm: Permission denied.

Error: Upload failed

Does this folder matter, or do I need to set some permisisons somewhere?

Secondly, am I hoping for too much to hope the site works again with a simple upload f the download dump I made of the site ?

I backed up the database regularly and have not changed any server or database settings on the server.

thirdly: Would the site download I did contain any of the backups I did while the site was still live? Should I just reinstall OSC and the skin I got from algozone and restore the DB?

Any help would be appreciated.

shoot, it appears I deleted the database form the server, but I saw a bunch of them get uploaded in a backup directory when I uploaded it all.... What should I do to replace / restore the old database ?

I think that you have 2 options:

1. restore the latest backup

2.. install the latest osc

Heh, damn, I installed the latest version and restored the database in about 15 minutes.......... When I first put the site up, I paid someone about $300 to setup and about another $300 for tweaking and installing an algozone skin..... Should've done it myself.

Now all I have to do is install the skin and figure out how to tweak the content of a few pages.

Put it down to experience. The forum and knowledgebase is a great way to find out how to diy.

Ya, I had xome tweaks I need to change, he added a shipping calculator that I dont need, integrated paypal which I still want to do, and he had some custom directions on the payment process for checks and money orders..... I see there;s a check/mo module now, I guess thats the new way to do it.....

That and editing the content and removing modules are all I need to do to get it operational again, I will post another thread on help with some of the little stuffs...
