Help.

I am skinning a tempalte for my client and some things work and some things don't.

I only need the Search and reviews boxes as standard in the right column But I have mucked up somewhere because Search is Ok but Reviews manages to adhere itself to the bottom and left of the page.

Any help gratefully received or even better the original right_column.php file so I can start again.

TIA

I don't suppose you linked to the reviews page as opposed to the reviews box did you?

Hi Robert

The Reviews page is fine (in the sense that its untouched), I just need to sort out the boxes in the right hand column.

Is that what you mean? Sorry please clarify if not.

As I have said in previous posts I am a newbie to this, but guess we've all gotta start somewhere. :blush:

Are you saying that it is ONLY the reviews box that is breaking the template or does it happen if you comment the reviews box out?

The reviews box is the only one that manages to find itself more in the left column and at the bottom. The search box is in the right place.

When I comment out the reviews box it disappears, but I would like to keep the reviews box.

Hope this helps.

Well this confuses me as the boxes are very simple .. think of them as ..

<tr>

<td>

// Whatever you decide to do to me

</td>

</tr>

Therefore an individual box cannot destroy your template unless you have destroyed the box.

Hope that makes sense.

I haven't killed the box. box.php (or whatever!) is fine its just the position of that box.

It has been a long day.

Ok Debbie do this ..

Column right where you have ..

 } else {
include(DIR_WS_BOXES . 'reviews.php');
}

Replace it with ..

 } else {
//include(DIR_WS_BOXES . 'reviews.php');
// BOF REMOVE ME
echo '
<tr>
 <td>Robs just being a pain</td>
</tr>';
// EOF REMOVE ME
}

Does it still appear out of place?

Yes it does still appear on the left-hand column .

Then you have broken the template outside of column_right.php

Am I the only fiddler here or is it perfectly natural ?

it's perfectly natural to fiddle. :)

i play with my sites all the time, but i make lots of backups, use a local apache installation (rather than my live shop) and put lots of comments in the code so i can find my way back again. practice will make you better but there's nothing like a backup to save your bacon.
