Hi

am absolutely new to php

 

if i open a file- what program can i use?

word?

 

what format to i save it in?

php does not show up as a format in word?

 

any recommendations and please don't laugh

No - Word is not designed to do what you need.

If you want to work in osC, then you would do best by getting a website program - word is not a website program.

I use MS Front Page, but many do not like it for various reasons - it does have a steep learning curve.

There is a whole lot out there,

 

Dreamweaver is real popular

CoffeCup is probably easiest to use

 

Make sure it is WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) this means that it has a built in browser that shows you the page as you edit it.

These are better than built-in ms notepad and they're free.

2. Beerwin`s PlainHTML - HTML and code editor

 

You may also want to take a look at NVU or Kompozer.

i thank you from the bottom of my heart

now i know how to save php files and css files!

i downloaded coffee cup and it worked !

great editor. now my next question- how do you get rid of change the text on the home page in the middle and 2nd question change the color of the lines on the home page...
