automated 3rd party fulfillment via fixed record file

Hi.

 

I've seen that a lot of people talk about using 3rd party fulfillment houses, and that there is some module that helps, but I have yet to find what exactly that is!

 

In our case, we have a store that needs to take all of the orders each day and wrap them up into a fixed-field record file (one or more lines per order, depending on the items, etc), PGP it, and then FTP it to the fulfillment house's server for further processing (they will also run the credit cards).

 

Subsequently, we need to receive a file back (we pull from their FTP server) and re-process the information back into our store to reflect the state of processing.

 

So, how are people doing this??? I can't believe we're the first ones. :)
