Turv
Hello, I am looking for some advice on the best way to tackle handling a quote for a product, instead of an actual selling price. Please see below. The Situation The Company sells various products, Some of these products can have engraving, however the price for engraving can vary depending on size/complexity. Currently anyone who wants Engraving needs to contact the company to get a quote. The Problem, What i need is basically to implement a custom payment process, So when someone wishes to order a product with Engraving (Product Attribute) They will instead have their details forward to the company to receive a quote, as i do not want the customer to pay for the item until the final selling price is confirmed. Now maybe this would be the case of instead on the products that have engraving as an option having some link to 'Get a Quote!' which will take them to a Contact Form, fill in x/y details and that forwards to the company. I am then stuck with how do you get it from receiving a price for the quote, to actually allowing the customer to purchase (x) product at the quoted price? As they cannot just add something to the shopping cart as the price will be incorrect. Anyone have any ideas on the best way to accomplish this? Turv
Don't like to bump, but could really use some guidence on this. Presume with the above situation i have a contact form, Is there any way i can 'raise' an order so that the customer can actually purchase it through the website, As if you are in fact adding something to their cart to buy it. Any ideas on the possibilities of this, or another method?
