raybeam
Hi! I've set up a webshop hosted by siteground.com, but now I've found a better alternative for hosting. If I want to move the site, do I need to do something else then copy all the files? Do I need to change something?

Guest
On your current host through their control panel you should create and download a full backup, then with phpmyadmin you should backup and download your DB. In your configure.php files the easiest way to make the move is on your new host using their control panel install osC. Then backup the 2 configure.php files from the new install and then remove all the files. Upload your finished site and copy the configure.php files you just created to your new store. Then go to the DB the install created, remove all the tables and upload your DB to the new host. Once up and running there are a couple of places in your admin you will need to change also such as the location of your tmp and cache directory. If you have a dedicated IP for your payment processor that might have to be updated with them also.

You say I shall "remove the tables" in the database.. This I don't understand. Do you mean I should delete the newly created database and REPLACE it with my backuped database? I don't have an option to install the OsC through the control panel of my new host, I have to do it manually.. When I do the install, should I check the box Import Cataloge database? How do I import the previous database into phpmyadmin? I manage to find where to do it on my own. Now HOW do I change the tmp and cache directory in the admin? To WHAT do I change it? It seems like the store is working anyway, but maybe it's necessary to change the directorys in the admin also? I have no idea. And also, I get a new error message in the OsC Admin: Error Error: Catalog images directory is not writeable: /home/httpd/vhosts/****.biz/httpdocs/images/ How do I change that?????
