TalamhBooks
Hello all, I recently launched TalamhBooks.com. It's a store for ebooks of classic literature. My selection is relatively small at the moment, but I'll be expanding it quite a bit in the near future. I may also add audiobooks. I believe I've tested everything there is to test in the store, but please feel free to let me know if you happen across a bug. Any comments and suggestions on the design and functionality will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Guest
I have 1 word for your site GREAT!! The colors are unique but calm in the same sense, everything seems to work and I love the design. I'm going to add your site to my shopping directory. Goodluck and I wish you and your shop success.
Guest
Nice looking site with a comfortable feeling. I am glad you did not put a buy now button on the featured book module. I liked the "add to book bag", it was cute and befitting. product_info.php?products_id=41 is ugly in the address bar and hard to remember. I would recommend turning on seo urls in the configuration OR to install a contribution like Ultimate SEO. (This is what I use, I cannot compare it against any other SEO type contribution.) I tried to learn more about Talamh Books. Your single statement of ownership, "the owner of the website www.talamhbooks.com.' tells me nothing about Talamh Books, where they are located, or anything else. Of course I go overboard and click on domain details button and see the registrant is DomainsByProxy and then I go further and read the SSL certificate which only states GoDaddy can verify the domain is under the control of the people who contacted GoDaddy regarding the purchase of an SSL certificate. (Yes, the icon is properly showing. I right-clicked the icon to look at your name.) When making a purchase I do go that far in checking out a site (I know who ebay, google, sears, and chase are, all others I check) Please tell us the who and where of Talamh Books. Account sign up was easy and fast. Because I run into this often when reviewing sites I feel the need to say thank you for not requiring me (when not required by law) to give you my gender and d.o.b. to create and account. To aide your customers in their browsing experience you might want to consider installing a previous / next contribution so that the people can browse one item after another without going to a category between each selection in the same category. Overall the site ran fast and smooth. Different featured items where displayed.

Overall the site ran fast and smooth. Different featured items where displayed. Thanks to each of you for your kind words about the design. I took your above advice and installed Ultimate SEO URLs and a previous/next system to the product pages. Those do add a nice touch. About the business information: the store is a small, home-based business, and when I registered the domain name with GoDaddy, I knew that I was about to move, and not yet knowing what my new address would be it seemed easier to use private domain registration rather than reveal to the public a soon-to-be inaccurate address. I don't think you were suggesting ill intent on my part, but to be sure, know that there was nothing nefarious involved. I assumed that since the store's inventory is 100% virtual and with SSL on the site, payment information handled entirely by PayPal, and the only information collected from the user by me being their name and email address, people wouldn't be too concerned with the setup. I will be adding an "About Us" page shortly, so hopefully that will alleviate any concerns.
Guest
That was some really fast work on installing those two contributions. And they both work.  Registering with a privacy keeper (no one enforces the do not use this information ... part of the registrant page) is okay. Even though you were about to move, I still would have put it an address on the page. Then you could have made an announcement, "We've move to larger, better quarters! blah blah!" :-" I missed the part about PayPal, that would lower my natural "anxiety" toward a new site. Still a nice site.
