New Installation DB Problem

I am attempting to install osCommerce Online Merchant v2 on my Windows computer. I have the site setup and I started the install.php installation program. I have mySQL installed and built a new database using Navicat. I have verified that the database exists using the mySQL command prompt. When I enter the required field information in the Database Server screen and press Continue, the message "Testing Database Connection.." is displayed with the little icon spining. The message never goes away and I am unable to continue. HELP!

I think if you look at my thread that seems to e just below yours, there may be a potential solution there.

Thanks Frank. I had already reviewed your problem and it appears as though your problem (judging by the message) was one step beyond mine.
