EasyPopulate + Products Extra Fields - BEST

After using EP for a couple years, I was excited to try out the Products Extra Fields function in Easy Populate 2.76G.

2.76G is GREAT!!!

However, the Products Extra Fields function isn't consistent with how the rest of this AMAZING tool works.

 

I was expecting the Extra Fields to be added to the EP export just like the attributes....as columns.

Then I could use Excel to add the data into those fields and upload.

 

v_attribute_values_id_8_3 | v_attribute_values_name_8_3_1 | v_attribute_values_price_8_3

 

I was expecting new columns like

v_products_extra_fields_id_1 | v_products_extra_fields_value_1 ....

 

Instead we got the basic columns, but the values are stacked in the columns:

Note below where the the same model# is used in 4 rows.

What will it take to make the PEF data display horizontally so each row contains all the PEF values for 1 product...just like attributes?

 

I'm maxed out here, but I may have to make time for this because I'm using PEF much more...and this could save me some serious time.

HOWEVER, I'm willing to contribute CASH to someone if they want to set this up and add it to the contribution.

I am stumped on this as well, although it would appear that you've at least found a way for these extra fields to actually import via easy populate... I have installed both modules, both seem to be working independently... but I cant for the life of me ge thte extra fileds to export/import via EP.

 

Ive enabled Extra Fields in EP, and with the quick panel I can download an ExtraFields.csv... but that file is empty.

 

I added the columns as you've presented below, and as the are in the extrafields.csv... defining the name of the extra field, its id, and then the value for each, but can't get them to stick. EP says "updated" but the feild is still empty for each product.

 

Here's the deal, Im trying to add a upc code in addition to the model number... any suggestions or friendly pointers towards a tutorial. I am running in circles with this cart and the entire project was inherited....

I have extra fields on my shop I am no expert but here is a copy of my file

 

My extra fields heading is v_attribute_options_name_5_1

 

My extra fields data is Finger Size

Sorry I didn't need it in that format and the code is not written to split it out like that. I generate the file using msaccess to read the input file from the supplier and generate a file to be imported via EP.

 

The file needs to be in this format. It will work for 2 extra fields called List Price and Our Part No.

Seems a bit cumbersome to have a separate line in the file for each extra field. That would mean you would have 5 different lines in the file for EACH PRODUCT if you had 5 extra fields. Ouch.

 

Wouldn't it make sense to have had extra columns for each, just like the main import is done? How hard would it be to modify the existing code expect and handle a different format?
